Born To Run - Christopher McDougall

I won't bore you with a long summary because this book doesn't need one. Essentially, this book is about a man who wants, more than anything, to be able to love running. Although this is a nonfiction book, it is told in a series of stories. Initially, I was forced to read this book but after pushing through that first few pages, I felt drawn into the novel. Beyond the story, it's a powerful persuasive essay as well. Along the way, I learned quite a bit about ancient civilizations. I would definitely recommend reading this book before school starts up again.

Insomnia

Insomnia
By Stephen King

Ralph Roberts can't sleep because he is cursed with insomnia, and what he sees makes him different than other people. His insomnia opens up a world where he can see auras around people, and he can see strings that represent life. He sees what can end your life, and what he sees puts him in severe danger. A group of dangerous people and the Crimson King try to stop him. He has to stand up for a woman's care center who is being attacked, and he alo has to help and save some people along this way. Can he do all of this without ending up dead?
I would recommend this book for people who like mysteries. At some parts it can get a little boring, but I thought this was a great book.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why is about Clay Jensen who lived a normal life until a shoe box of tapes arrived at his door. The moment he played them, he realized that he voice belonged to Hannah Baker, the person he loved, until she had committed suicide a few weeks ago. Hannah claims that there were thirteen reasons why she killed herself and Clay was one of them. Clay goes along a journey to discover the truth of what happened to her.
This book was very unique and interesting. Personally I thought it was a bit depressing and slow at times but I do understand it is liked among other people. The plot is different from an average book and Hannah's tapes go deep into emotion. I would highly recommend Thirteen Reasons Why to people who enjoy contemporary themes and a good cry.
