"Everything Everything" by Nicola Yoon is about a girl named Maddy who suffers from SCID (a disease that makes you allergic to the world) and has stayed in her house for the past 18 years of her life. She wasn't depressed or ungrateful about the way she was... until she meets Olly. Olly is a strange boy that moved into the house right next to Maddy's, he is curious about the girl who only stared out of her window but never came out. As they communicate without talking, Maddy grows more and more attached to Olly and wants to see and know him outside of her trapped world.
This book is one of my favorite contemporaries because reading about the love and the risks were so breath-taking and heartbreaking. Olly has a funny and nice personality that fit well with Maddy's adventurous, happy personality. The twists in the book really surprised me, though the ending did anger me a little, reading the epilogue made me feel better.
