Slaves of Socorro- John Flanagan

In the much- awaited extension of the Brotherband Chronicles, Hal and his team are heroes in Hallasholm, but their adventure doesn't stop after their encounter with Zavac. The Herons are put on a post in Araluen- from the earlier Ranger's Apprentice series- to guard the coast as part of the treaty between the Skandians and Araluens. But, as it turns out, that isn't an easy job, as their old childhood nemesis, Tursgud, has gone bad and become a slaver. They team up with the Ranger Gilan to stop him. If you liked the earlier books in the series, this returns to the old characters really well. It combines Ranger's Apprentice and Brotherband Chronicles, which is really cool. I would recommend this book for anyone who has read and enjoyed the Brotherband Chronicles, and if you haven't, I highly recommend giving the series a try.
