You're invited to Camp NaNoWriMo, running this April and July!
We first imagined Camp simply as an off-season alternative to National Novel Writing Month, but it's evolved into much more than that: writers choose their own projects—from novel sequels to scripts to pop-up books—and find cabin communities (and often new friends) to support them. Plus, we're proud to include young writers aged 13 and older.
Last year, we introduced flexible word-count goals (10,000 to 999,999) and the ability to add your own project genre. Our 2014 features are designed to make Camp even more inviting:
Supersized, ultra-hyphy cabins. Chat with a crew of fellow writers on @reply-enabled message boards.
Full project-defining power. Claim a genre and category on your profile. "Adventure Short Stories"? "Historical Poetry"? Anything goes.
A big world of inspiration. Our blog, Facebook, and Twitter will be in full Camp spirit throughout the spring and summer.
We're excited to kick off another year of creativity, and can't wait to see how the Young Writers Program takes part. Visit Camp NaNoWriMo for yourself today!
